The Armstrong Arrows AA18U turned in a complete performance Saturday morning, earning a 4–0 shutout victory over the Allegheny Badgers AB18U in PAHL regular season action at Palmer Imaging Arena.
After a scoreless opening period, Armstrong broke through midway into the second frame and never looked back. The Arrows controlled possession for much of the game, finishing with a 29–20 advantage in shots on goal and capitalizing on key opportunities as the contest progressed.
The game’s first goal came at 13:12 of the second period, when Jason Rullo netted a power-play goal that also stood as the game-winning goal. Rullo’s tally gave Armstrong momentum heading into the final period.
Armstrong extended the lead early in the third period when Anthony Trombatt scored at 12:37, followed by a short-handed goal from Matthew Stellitano at 11:31. Ian Morganti capped the scoring with an unassisted goal at 9:49, sealing the 4–0 win.
Between the pipes, Chris Nichols delivered a strong performance for Armstrong, stopping all 20 shots he faced to secure the shutout. Allegheny goaltender Cameron Farrow faced sustained pressure throughout the game, finishing with 25 saves.
The physical nature of the matchup was evident, particularly in the third period, which featured multiple roughing minors and fighting majors as emotions boiled over late. Despite the increased physicality, Armstrong remained composed and closed out the contest with discipline.
With the win, Armstrong improves to 7-1-0 on the season, while Allegheny moves to 4-2-1.
